The Society for the Documentation of Submerged Sites

EXPLORATION AND DOCUMENTATION OF EXTRAORDINARY SUBMERGED SITES

SDSS is an international no profit organization founded in 1999 and based in Italy.

Our mission is to study, research, promote, disseminate, and protect submerged historical, cultural, biological, and environmental heritage.

Our primary activity involves documenting submerged sites of great significance, including historical shipwrecks, archaeological sites, unique underwater habitats, and critical environmental areas using the best available technologies.

We collaborate with researchers and institutions to operate at depths of up to 150 meters. SDSS’s documentation capabilities provide scientists and institutions with a unique opportunity to conduct surveys, research, and other scientific operations in these largely unexplored environments.

SDSS APS is supported through self-funding, sponsorships, public contributions, and donations from companies and individuals who wish to support our projects. Even small donations are crucial in making our projects, expeditions, and productions possible.
